Name serves as the identity for the Gods. Therefore, the existence of other Gods with the same name threatens their existence. Since Gods and Old Gods shared names with each other, it was obvious that this would only lead to conflict. And so this led to the War of the Gods: Ragnarok.

Although Bastet was the Old God of the Moon, she didn’t agree with many of the other Old Gods. Perhaps it was because she was the goddess of the waxing and waning moon. She believed that the Old Gods were becoming obsolete and that the new Gods would rise to power as their successor. To live up to her beliefs, Bastet has given all of her authority and her name to the Lunar Goddess, Deia. The Old Gods saw this as treason, a betrayal that cannot be forgiven. Soon after, they came after her. Bastet had no regrets.

Even after becoming a False God, she was free from greed and desires, unlike the other Old Gods, because she had no regrets. Bastet really believed that she was a complete False God. However, for some reason, she found herself unable to take her eyes off the Goddess who was secluded in the Lower Heaven.
