The aura around her once again began to hover, sharper and darker than it had been before the war of the Gods… Deia felt her fingertips tremble as she held the divining rod.

Deia was one of the youngest of the Goddesses. Ever since the Old Goddess, Bastet, had given up her Lunar deity, her qualities had been questioned, not only by the Old Gods but by those within her own Goddess family. Sometimes, when confronted with criticism, Deia would not react angrily but would instead blame her own inadequacies, casting a shadow over her. Until then, Deia had always believed that Bastet was the true Lunar Goddess.

Maybe that’s why… The sight of Bastet after all these years came as a great shock to Deia. Bastet’s expression, free of name and past, seemed freer than ever. Whereas the Bastet in the past had been a light to aspire to, the laughter of the nameless Goddess who had erased her past had suddenly become someone to protect, a mission as a Lunar Goddess.

“No… I shouldn’t rely on her anymore.”

Deia echoed the words over and over again, picturing their faces as they fought. She could no longer feel her hands trembling. It was as if she knew it was time to fulfill her mission as a Lunar Goddess.

“I am Lunar… It is my duty to guide those who are lost and wandering in the dark.”
